What Happened?!

We started the morning off with our usual trip to Starbucks.

I had my heart set on a HOT drink given the fall-ish weather we were having this morning in New England, but somehow I walked out with an iced latte?  Not sure how that happened but I was glad it did as it looks like the sun is beginning to peek through.

I always struggle between the hot and iced coffee choice and always end up having to make a quick game-time decision – most of the time I’m happy with my choice, but I have been known to suffer coffee regret when I feel I’ve made the wrong choice!  I know, I know,  my life is hard!

Hopefully Clara felt I made the right choice too…

Our usual morning coffee run when we’re home in Connecticut also includes a stop at the bagel store across the street.

We absolutely love this place.  The service is fast and friendly and the bagels are delicious – a perfect way to start the day.

I ordered a whole wheat bagel which I took home and toasted, topped with a little smart balance and paired with some egg whites.  On the side I had a true Georgia peach that my sister and brother-in-law brought up from Atlanta!

I of course filled up with the bagel and egg whites so I’ll be saving the peach for later in the day.  It smells delicious so I can’t wait to eat it.

You’ll notice a lot of of egg whites on the blog which I often choose over real eggs simply because I eat so many of them!  I have absolutely nothing against real eggs (especially hard-boiled with toast!) but if I eat a real egg, I try to keep it to the recommended 1-2 per week.

We have plans to take the kids we babysit to the Ice Cream Shop this afternoon – I hope the weather holds out!

Other than that it will just be more family time then heading back later in the day to the city.
