Evening Folks!
Today continued to be just the perfect little Saturday. I honestly just could not have asked for more.
After I had finished eating and putting away all my new Fall goodies (
) I scrolled through my Google Reader to catch up on Blogland happenings and was happy to find myself motivated by Katie’s post for a run!
I popped on some shorts, a long-sleeved tee, my watch and I was off!
I ended up having an awesome 3.5 miler – I wanted to go longer, but I’m trying to control myself since I haven’t done much distance lately. I’m really trying to stick to the 10% rule, especially after Angela’s post about Superwoman Syndrome!
It felt great regardless and I walked for another half hour or so just to loosen myself up and cool-down.
I had a minor snafu this afternoon while at the grocery store. I was all set and ready to pay and realized I didn’t have my debit card anymore! I FREAKED out and looked all over the store before checking with Customer Service who luckily had it! PHEW!
I hate moments like that! It’s so scary!!
Anyway, by the time I found it, they had already put back my items so needless to say, I’ll be going BACK to the store tomorrow to actually purchase the items I pick out. Haha. I couldn’t even be upset about it because I was just SO HAPPY that I didn’t lose it for good.
Upon arriving home, I showered and dressed and put together what tasted like the most amazing dinner ever!
Prepare yourself for greatness:

You know what I’m gonna say….
HOLY YUM!!!
This salad was so delicious I can’t even explain to you. The veggie burger/apple combo is honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. I didn’t even need dressing!

I also threw some honey roasted almond slivers on there -

The sweetness of them definitely created a party in my mouth
I was one happy girl!
On the side I added a rolled up Joseph’s flax oat bran & whole wheat flour pita bread -

It was the perfect compliment to the rest of the meal.

Now that I’m happily satisfied I’m going to climb into bed on this somewhat dreary night and watch DVDs to my hearts content
Hope you all have plans that will make you happy tonight too!
Night!

That looks like an amazing salad! I’ve lost my debit card like that before too, so scary!
Leianna – I know, isn’t it terrifying!? I HATE that feeling so so so much!
Ummm that is the best looking salad I’ve seen in a while!! Holy yum is right!
Haha – Thanks Pam!
That salad is so pretty! Talk about eating with your eyes first!
Angie – I know, right!?
Apples and veggie burgers together in one salad?! Why didn’t I think of that?! Next salad, definitely. And YAY for your good run! I am glad I could help out.
Katie – you DEFINITELY have to try it! I have no idea what made me do it, but I did one day and I’ve never gone back
hey cait, do you have a favorite brand of veggieburger?
Hey Lily! These ones that I just got were from Costco and they’re Don Lee Farms brand and are SO good! They have full nuts and seeds and veggies right smack in them. Before I discovered these though, I would say any of the Amy’s or Gardenburger brands were my go-to. I’m not huge on the Boca brand because I like it to be more “veggie” than trying to imitate meat if that makes sense.
Thanks for asking!! Hope you’re well
yay costco! i will put them on my list for my costco trip next week… along with that pecan spice cereal – it looks delicious! i am addicted to kashi go lean crunch but those beautiful pecan halves are hard to pass up. especially with fall (everything-pumpkin-all-the-time) being just around the corner (i can still imagine that fall exists in texas) !
Haha! I’ll try to put up lots of Fall-ish things to bring you a little Fall down there
And yeah – that cereal is AWESOME. I’d definitely recommend it (as a fellow Kashi Go Lean Crunch lover
)

Lizzy – Thanks! It was DEFINITELY that good!
Ohh, that salad looks awesome! Even the wrap on the side sounds good! haha
Oh I totally feel your pain on the debit card situation! I always seem to lose things and I totally freak out. Glad you found it though, whew!
That salad does look fabulous. Glad you had such an awesome Saturday!
Wow- that salad looks amazing!
I love Joseph’s brand pitas and lavash bread but I can only find them at BJ’s and Walmart and I don’t go to either of those stores very often.
Brittany – I know, they’re tough for me to find too. I can only get them when I’m home in CT! It’s so sad!
Wanted to share this with you because I have a feeling that you would enjoy it.

From my cappuccino this afternoon. Who knew you could get them in Kenya? More importantly, the lion paw in the foam was a nice touch.
I LOVE THIS Tom! I know I’ve told you on about 18 different places, but it’s awesome!
Where did you find the Joseph’s pitas???? They are my favorite and have not found them in NJ.
Oh sorry – just read your comment to Britany. I can only get them in RI.
Haha I know! I don’t get what NJ has against them! It makes me so upset!
Elf,
What is up with that loaf. It looks like it has a mind of its own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahahahaha I know, the pan was a little too small so it really did start to take on a mind of it’s own…I need a bigger loaf pan
