Every Fall Since 2006

by Cait on September 25, 2009

I was up very early this morning to take my sister Shannon to the T. She’s going to a seminar at her old lab today. It felt just like the old days when we all lived in Boston together!

We decided it was best to go to the Newton Center T stop because there just so happens to be a Peet’s Coffee right there :D

Oh Peet’s. How I love you and miss you when I’m away!

I got the usual – a large soy cafe au lait -

I forgot how STRONG Peet’s makes their coffee. I probably would’ve been better off with a latte!

When I came home it was still the butt crack of dawn and I wasn’t really ready for breakfast so I headed out on a run.

It was hard to leave this little sweetie…

…but I figured it would give me extra motivation to run fast!

It was PERFECT outside. A crisp, Fall morning for sure. The best running weather.

I had an amazing 5 mile run. A little longer than I had planned but it was fabulous nonetheless. It felt so nice to get out there and just go.

When I came home I whipped up a little post-run fuel. Despite the fact that running always takes away my appetite, I know it’s not good to forgo eating all together.

Julia has been my constant companion on this trip (she’s so adorable) – and she even sat in her high chair and watched me eat every.last. bite of my breakfast. Haha.

I threw some olive oil and a cracked egg in a pan while toasting a slice of whole wheat bread and the result was quite delicious -

I completed the Fall ambience with the leaves that I collected after my run :D

Every Fall since 2006 I have made sure to collect a few of the first Fall leaves in Boston. I have them all in a book at home with the dates labeled.

I’m cool. I know ;)

Afterwards Julia, Courtney and I took a walk (we’re trying everything we can to get this baby moving!)

And Julia played in the “leaves”

Now we’re inside thinking about lunch and brainstorming other home remedies to get this baby out of my sister!!

Adios! Oh and Happy Friday!!

The fall leaves are GORGEOUS! We don’t really get those here in Florida :( . Julia is absolutely precious! Love your blog!!

Oh, and I hear eggplant is a labor inducer…? I’m not speaking from experience though :) .

Wow, that fried egg and toast combo was my daily breakfast for about 7 yrs. I would make a hole in the bread and put the egg in the middle to cook and then sometimes sprinkle with cheese. Some people call it Toad in the Hole. I even read about it in a novel. I miss the fall colors on the east coast!

Valerie – Ah! I’ve heard of that! My friend calls it “egg in a hole.” I totally should’ve done that this morning!! Maybe tomorrow!
