Good morning everyone!
I slept like a baby last night which was FABULOUS! I definitely needed a good night’s sleep! Saturday was a great day. Mike and I spent an even amount of time inside and outside – we walked to get iced lattes and some breakfast (which was really like brunch because at that point it was like noon!) -

After we ate I took a nap and Mike relaxed at his place (he’s still not feeling 100%) and about an hour later we decided to head back out to take advantage of this sunny Saturday!
We headed to the high school to throw around a bit to help loosen Mike’s arm up for his game on Sunday.

Mike also semi-made good on a bet we made a while back. I’ve asked to race him in the 400m for YEARS now and we’ve never got around to doing it. However, today must’ve been my lucky day because he agreed! Or, he semi-agreed. He said he’d do a 100m race (after all, he was sick – probably not the best to be racing 400 meters).
Anyway – he completely smoked me! I was shocked! You should see this kid run the bases – it’s like he has a piano on his back! I have no idea where his speed came from – but apparently it’s in there! Haha. I STILL maintain that I’d beat him in a 400m – but we’ll see
Anyway – by the time we were done playing around it was close to 5pm and we were both starving. We came home, showered and then decided to try a new place we’ve been dying to go to for dinner!

Not only is the name the most fun thing to say in the world – the food was AMAZING!
Mike started with a south american beer that he said was really good. I contemplated getting sangria or a glass of wine, but ultimately decided I didn’t really need it and I’d rather save room for the food!

I knew I made the right choice, especially when THESE were placed in front of us!

Don’t ask me what this was, but it was some sort of adobo-spiced flat bread. It was out of this world. At one point while eating it, Mike turns to me and goes “What’s on this?” – and I was like “Well since I made it…” Oooh Mike. Sometimes I don’t really know what goes through his head, but it’s flattering that he thought I would know! Maybe my cooking skills aren’t as bad as I think!
To start I ordered the mixed green salad which tasted like THE BEST thing ever (I think it was the dressing, don’t ask what it was, all I could tell you was it was good.)

Mike chose the fried plantains which I thought I was going to have to snag some of, but after our fried-fest on Friday night, it didn’t look appetizing at all.

He enjoyed it though and I definitely snagged the little sauce to try with my entree.
Speaking of entrees…
I went with the Peruvian-style Salmon which was cooked before my eyes in a wood-burning stove and had a roasted red pepper sauce on top served over a bed of roasted potatoes.

Holy moly was this thing amazing. The spicing on it was to die for. I realize that my being very hungry might have contributed to my opinion, but even factoring that in, I’m pretty sure this food really was as good as it seemed at the time!
Mike got the roasted pork leg which I also had a taste of. It was good but I was definitely glad I went with the salmon for myself -

After dinner we came home and caught up on Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution (SUCH an interesting show – definitely give it a watch if you get the chance!) and also watched some of his baseball videos from last weekend’s game.
Because it was an earlier dinner we were both feeling some dessert by the time 9pm rolled around. Mike went with the ice cream in the freezer but I had my mind set on one thing and one thing only -

Nonfat coffee yogurt with dark chocolate shavings
Heaven.
And with that – our Saturdays just about wrapped up. That baby up there must’ve been the reason I slept so well, don’t you think??

What a fun Saturday! My Mike doesn’t run very much, but when he does, he ALWAYS smokes me, and I get really frustrated. I could beat him if we were running 3+ miles, but usually he beats me. Silly boys.
Also, that salmon, yummmmm. I always order salmon when I go out because I don’t really know how to buy/cook salmon for myself but I LOVE it. Yours looks divine.
