Cville Cluster

by Cait on July 23, 2011

Surviving today’s wine tasting without over-heating?

Might prove to be quite difficult.

But a delicious breakfast?

It was in the bag ;)

This stuff is no joke.

It is clustery goodness at it’s best!

Once I knew I would be using this, the rest of breakfast was a piece of…granola.

The base:

  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/2 tbsp. ground flax seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup water

Second layer:

  • Ch-ch-ch-cherries!

Third layer:

Fourth (and best) layer:

And a cherry on top!

Amazing.

Off to wine tasting – happy Saturday everyone! :)

Aww, you got it! And so soon too! I was just at Great Harvest yesterday (not the Cville one, though), and we are now stocked up on scones and trek bars. Should’ve gotten some granola, though! :)

Did you pit all those cherries?!
Regardless, looks good!

Reply

Cait's Plate July 23, 2011

Haha no I didn’t – I just spit them out at each spoonful. I wish I had the patience to pit them all – it’d make it MUCH more enjoyable :)

I am a parfait fanatic and this contains so many flavors I just love! Cherries are awesome right now. And I need to get my hands on a bag of those clusters- yum! Enjoy the day

It was a pretty good combo – I highly suggest it (though pit the cherries first! not doing so made this tough to eat!)

Wow – the granola looks phenomenal! Big chunks – how I like it :)

But – HOW do you possibly eat that from the glass??!!! You’d have to eat layer by layer…and need a big spoon? You don’t mix I guess?

I get a big spoon and dig right in :)

Hi, how much yogurt do you use in that? I’m wondering about good proportions.

No worries! This was about half a 6oz chobani container – I usually use a whole one but I just happened to have this one open and needed to use it :)

Amanda @ Running with Spoons July 23, 2011

Oh that looks delicious. I especially love the cherry on top :D Parfait type things always look so pretty, but I don’t eat them that much because they’re just so inconvenient lol. I need a big open bowl so all my food can spread out… having to dig into a cup with a spoon is just kind of too much of a hassle for me… which is probably why I’ve never tried OIAJ. Most random comment ever :D

Have a good time wine tasting!

Haha – I’m kind of with you on the parfait versus the bowl. Once I start eating it’s a sloppy mess :) And I totally loved this comment!

I didn’t get any Cville granola for fear that I would demolish the entire bag in one sitting. This post just reinforced that fear ; )

Reply

Cait's Plate July 23, 2011

Haha yeah – if I weren’t so concerned with making it last (since I can’t easily get more) then I would absolutely do the same!
