And just like that another fabulous weekend is in the books!
We headed to our town’s Ice Cream Shop for one last hurrah before we all hit the road….

I can hardly believe how much older Julia is from the last time we came here!

I don’t think Madeleine really knew what to make of how cold it was…

We have a joke in our family that if we don’t take a picture, the moment didn’t happen. Haha. Obviously with two adorable kids, every moment is a photo op!

We sadly said our goodbyes to one another and headed to the train from there.
I got on the train easily enough but the rest of the ride back was a DISASTER! A tree had fallen on the tracks (it got super stormy shortly after we left the ice cream shop) causing all kinds of delays.
I finally walked in the door around 8pm and quickly threw together a little Mexican meal (with a little help from a friend).

I used Amy’s Black Bean Enchiladas, put it over some brown rice and added avocado + chips on the side.
Not bad at all!
It’s been an exhausting day so I’m off to bed.
Here’s to hoping next week is NOTHING like last week!

Haha! My mom has the exact same feelings about memories! They must ALL be documented by thousands of pictures. She still gets them all developed and dates the back of each photo! I love it! I think I am starting to take after her!
That ice cream shop looks too cute!
Haha – I love that!!
You sure are doing a good job of teaching those girls about the good things in life. Family and ice cream.
Also, I looked back at that post, and cannot believe how big Julia has gotten!! How old is she now? Hope your trip back home wasn’t too bad.
She’s going to be 5 in November!!
That ice cream shop is too cute! Loved all of your posts this wknd…your entire family is too cute! Family time is the best : ). Wishing you a great week!
Katie : )
Thank you!! I’m glad you like it – sometimes I worry my readers are going to be like “okay, enough with the family pictures already!!” Haha.
And I agree – family time is definitely the best.
I have no words to describe how adorable these photos are! The icecream shop looks like such a nice outing. What a beautiful place!
Haha thank you! It was pretty much cuteness overload with the place and the kids!
You were on the same train as Bethenny! Lol she tweeted about the tree falling
Haha – my boyfriend said the same thing! It was NOT a fun train to be on!
Don’t you just LOVE little, home-oriented ice cream shops?! It has to be my favorite part about going home for the summer. The pictures with the little girls make me smile. Such beauty, life and energy in the faces of little kids… why can’t we all be that carefree?
Yes! They’re my absolute favorites! And I agree – we all need to act more like kids!
“if we don’t take a picture, the moment didn’t happen.” — that is so true with me!! I get teased *all the time* for always taking pictures — but I love it, and I can’t help it:) Great photos–and memories!
Haha I’m glad you understand the feeling!! I’m the same way
And thank you! Definitely good memories there
Yikes! Sorry to hear about the train delay. But you made it! And yes, I will raise a glass to hoping this week is less crazy than the last!
Haha thank you!! I really need it
These pictures are so cute! Your neices are adorable!
Thank you! I definitely think so
Looks like such a fun last day with the fam!!
It really was!
Looks like so much fun! All weekends should end with ice cream. I love that you put your Amy’s on a plate and it looks so great. I always eat mine out of the cardboard…usually standing over the counter…
Haha – trust me I definitely thought about doing that!
That ice cream shop is adorable!!
Thank you! I love it. It’s the same one I went to all while growing up
I always love amping up a frozen meal when I get home late- it feels homemade! Amy’s has some delicious finds…
Agreed! I’m not a huge frozen meal fan but I’ll happily eat hers as part of a meal
Awesome pics!! Mexican is one of my favs!! That looks yummy! AND I cannot pass up icecream!!!!!
Me either (clearly! haha).
