So in keeping with the rainbow theme this weekend, I made these:

I promise my next post is not going to be me dressed up in a Rainbow Brite costume.
At least I think I can promise that.

Oh who am I kidding.
I can’t actually promise that.
What I can promise you is that these are really delicious (I’ve already eaten 3, so you know, you can take my word for it)
All you need to get started is the following:

Plus a package of your favorite m&ms!
Then throw it all together!

And in no time you’ll be thinking of ways to wire your jaw shut so as not to eat the entire pan in one sitting!

Peanut Butter Pretzel M&M Brown Rice Krispie Treats
Ingredients:
- 1 bag of regular marshmallows (or 4 cups of mini marshmallows)
- 3 tbsp. smart balance (or butter/margarine of your choice)
- 6 cups of brown rice cereal of choice
- 1/2 – 1 cup peanut butter melted (depending on how much peanut butter flavor you like)
- 1 medium bag of pretzel m&ms (or favorite flavor m&ms)
Directions:
- Melt butter and marshmallows over low heat on the stovetop until smooth
- Add marshmallow mixture to 6 cups of brown rice cereal and stir well so all the cereal is coated well with marshmallow mixture
- Add melted peanut butter and stir until well combined
- Add pretzel m&m bag and combine
- Using a buttered spoon or a piece of parchment paper, press into 13x9x2
- Once cooled, sliced into squares and enjoy!

Ooohh, I love these!! Looks great
Thanks Liz! They definitely were – I couldn’t stop eating them!!
These look so incredible! How long until Lent is over?!
Hahaha I know right?! Mine started this Monday (I’m Greek Orthodox) so I ate as many as humanly possible today in order to feel like I could make it through!
Ah you’re killing me, since I’m limiting myself to one sweet a day during Lent! I’ll be pinning these for future reference though!
Haha shoot! Sorry. Definitely worth keeping for future reference though! And I guess maybe this gives you motivation to get through Lent?! Haha – wishful thinking?
I am literally drooling..pretzel m&m’s are my favorite!!
Mine too!!
You are seriously full of the best recipies this week! Oh hey, I made your chocolate ice cubes and they turned out great, I am sipping my chocolate beverage right now.
I posted it on my blog- http://newbalancenicole.com/2012/02/26/homemade-chocolate-milk/
I saw!! I love it!! I’m so glad that they worked out and that you liked them
I desperately want to see you dressed up as Rainbow Brite and eating colorful pancakes sprinkled with these rice crispy treats. Desperately.
Also, can you believe I’ve never had pb pretzel M&Ms?!! Neeeeeeeeeed.
Hahahahaha – I’ll try to make that happen for you in the near future
oh wait…I just mean pretzel m&ms…but I think someone needs to invent PB PRETZEL M&Ms – I’m dying at the thought.
Chad thought that SAME exact thing when I told him what I made! That’s too funny! And I agree – I think WE need to invent them!
Or maybe that’s a little too much work and we just drop a line to our friends over at M&Ms…I pretty much single-handedly keep them in business so I’m thinking they’d be willing to help us out.
Wow! So glad I found your blog! Another wonderful personality mixed with great food ideas
Aw thank you! So glad you found me
Looks delicious! I love all the colors!
Thanks! The colors are always what get me too. I’m such a sucker for them!
I love the rainbow brite theme
Rainbow Brite was totally on my bed as I was a little girl….
I love rice crispy treats!!! YUM!! I used to get these as my birthday “cakes” for my special day. A Jazzed up Rice Treat!
xxoo
Haha! I love that!
And I do too – it’s been FAR too long since I’ve had them!! Which I guess is what explains why I devoured about half the batch in one sitting! Hah…I wish I were joking.
I love rice krispie treats… When was the last time I had some? At a one day teacher seminar a year ago or so. There were boxed lunches and the food was not too great. BUT, they had rice krispie treats and that made my !
I love that story! I definitely think you should whip some up – it had been far too long since I had had one as well and BOY did these taste good!
I can do serious damage to a tray of plain old rice krispies. But this m&m version would be even more dangerous! Love it
Hahah tell me about it! I had to cut myself off!
I love rice krispie treats! They are my favorite. These look great
They definitely were – a fun twist on the classic
oh my goodness! i love pretzel m&ms. they are salty and sweet and perfect. and combined with PB? Mmmm! I have some leftover from a recipe i made, and have been looking for new ideas to get rid of them!! These look incredible.
Definitely try this recipe and if you do, let me know how you like it!
I just made these last week for my husband to take into work!!! I didnt add the pretzels, instead I had plain M&Ms but they were devoured in less time than his shift!
Pretzel M&M are my favorite so I might just have to try these out for a weekend treat!
Ah I love that! I had to ship my out of the house otherwise I would have easily polished off the whole tray in one day!!
Definitely try it with the pretzel m&ms too (they’re my favorite as well) and let me know what you think! I want to try them with peanut butter m&ms too!
We have a bag of pretzel M&M’s but no Rice Krispies or marshmallows… I may have to make a trip to the store after work ;P
You should!! These will be SO worth it
OH MY GOD!! I’m pretty sure I’m making these tomorrow….
